Common questions
Where is my game?
Posy keeps up to three saved games on the device. The title screen's Continue opens the one you played last; Saved games lists all three, with the day and the shop's name on each. The game saves itself every game hour and whenever you go to bed, so nothing is lost if you close the app or the battery runs out.
How do I move my game to a new phone or an iPad?
On the old device, open the journal's Settings and choose Move my game to another phone, then Show a code. On the new device, choose Bring my game from another phone on the title screen (or Another phone… in Saved games), type the six letters, compare the check letters on both screens and pick a slot. The old device asks before it sends anything and keeps its own copy. If the devices are not near each other, choose Send as a file instead… and open the .posy file on the other device.
The title screen says a saved game can't be opened.
The save is kept safe and nothing is written over it. The screen offers to go back to the previous day's copy (Posy keeps a backup of every night) or to open another slot. If neither helps, email us with the slot's name: the file can be read back by hand.
How does a friend join my shop?
Both devices need Posy and need to be near each other, on the same Wi-Fi or close enough for a direct Wi-Fi connection; no internet is needed. On your device: Play together › Open my shop to friends, and allow Local Network access when iOS asks. Four pictures appear. On your friend's device: Play together › Help a friend, then tap the same four pictures. Up to three friends can be in at once, as helpers or co-owners. Your friend's own game is saved before they join and is untouched.
“No shop nearby shows those four pictures.”
Check the pictures on the host's screen and tap them again. Then check that both devices allowed Local Network access (Settings › Privacy & Security › Local Network › Posy), that both are on the same Wi-Fi or within a few metres of each other, and that both have the same version of Posy.
Where are my achievements?
In the journal, under Awards. If you are signed in to Game Center on the device, they show in Game Center too, and the Awards page has a button that opens it. Posy never asks you to sign in; without Game Center the game plays exactly the same.
I'd rather not see the odds before a cross.
Turn on Surprise me in the game's Settings. The card that shows what a cross will likely give stays hidden, and every cross is a surprise again.
How does photo mode work?
The camera button on the right of the screen opens photo mode: pinch and drag to frame the village, then tap the large camera button. The picture goes straight to Photos, and Done leaves photo mode. If you declined the first time iOS asked, allow it under Settings › Privacy & Security › Photos › Posy › Add Photos Only.
How do I change the language?
Posy is in English and German and follows the device language. To play in the other one, open Settings › Apps › Posy › Language on the device (the game's own Settings page links there) and choose it.
Sound, motion and text size
Music, ambience and effects have their own sliders in the game's Settings, and haptics can be switched off. Posy follows the ring/silent switch. With Reduce Motion on in iOS, the title scene holds still and the garden's effects are calmer. The Text size setting enlarges the interface.
Does it work on iPad in Split View?
Yes, in landscape, as long as its window is at least 667 points wide (the larger split on a 13-inch iPad; smaller iPads need the full screen). In a narrower window it shows a card asking for a wider one, and carries on where it stopped.
The game stopped at midnight.
That is the end of the day. Go to bed in the shop, or let the florist stumble home: the night grows the garden, ripens seeds, writes the letters and the paper, and the new morning begins.
Something looks wrong.
If a flower, a letter or a villager does something odd, a screenshot and the day shown in the top corner are the most useful things to send. Posy collects nothing on its own, so what you send is all we have, and it helps.
